Transition Factory Racing takes PRO GRT points lead in mens and womens

The Transition Racing team just got home from a huge weekend at the 3rd round of the Pro GRT at Northstar resort. Bryn and Jill have both secured themselves the points lead in the PRO GRT series after 3 events. This was the inagural GRT event at Northstar and the turnout was fantastic. With the current World Champion Steve Peat and current World Cup points leader Greg Minnaar in attendence, along with a slew of other smoking fast riders in the mens and womens fields, the competition was fierce.

The Team began practice on Thursday and knew immediately that it was going to be a lung burner. The course was relatively flat, but challenging due to being dry, and having all the categories riding the same course. This also caused the course to deterioriate more than usual over the weekend, and made for some challenging 'obstacles' for the faster riders during practice.

In qualifying Bryn placed 4th and Lars 12th, while Jill ran 2nd. With qualifying taking place on Friday, this and another day of practice on Saturday before finals on Sunday, this allowed the riders another day to fine tune their runs a bit more. All three Transition riders were enjoying themselves on the course and having a great time. Come Sunday though it was down to business. Jill was the first of the team to come down, and with a 4min 29.7sec time secured the victory with an 8 second lead over second place. Lars was the next down, and after some costly mistakes in the first half slid into 11th place overall with a 4min 12.5sec time. Bryn was the last of the team down, and charged into 2nd place with a 4min 3.3sec time only being bested by Greg Minnaar.

With these two finishes by Jill and Bryn they have both taken the overall points lead of the PRO GRT series.

Lars had this to say after all was said and done: "I couldn't be more stoked with the teams's performance this weekend. Having both of these guys take the lead with two races left to go, we're sitting well heading into the last two events, I'm very proud of them. Bryn seems to be getting more and more comfortable every podium. All he needs to do is keep it up and the big ones will come. And Jill is continuing to progress more quickly than we could have guessed. I feel very fortunate be a part of this little powerhouse program. As for my personal performance this weekend, I'm glad to have learned what I needed to. I know my speed is there, I just need to put the missing pieces of the puzzle in place. This series is gaining momentum and seems to have grown massively from last year. Definitely on it's way to becoming the premiere US race series. Props to Jeramiah Dylan Dean for continuing to make sure this thing keeps growing."

Jill and Lars head to Colorado next week to prepare for National Championships, while Bryn will remain home to train for the upcoming Champerey, and Val Di Sole World Cup rounds.
